Quietness and Confidence

In returning and rest I shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be my strength. The work of righteousness in me will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. Lord Jesus, You are my righteousness. I will let Your cross be my yoke. I will rest in You.

"Fireberries": Vision and Purpose

If you're new to this blog, please consider taking the time to read this "mission statement" first. You may also want to start at the very first of the entries, as they will tend to build on each other like building blocks. However, that is not necessary in order to receive benefit from each entry. Occasionally, I will post something special, such as a short personal testimony or some other inspirational piece I've written or received from the Lord.

The posts in this blog will consist of a short (usually) confession of faith or a prayer, all based on Scriptures the Lord brings to my heart. I have found that the Word is much more effective as we speak it, as our faith is built by hearing it and hearing it. I say these outloud and meditate on them during the day, as I hope you will. You may want to print them out or write them down. I suggest saying them to yourself as you look in the mirror (which might not be so easy when you first try it!). I will include Scripture references for you to study if you would like to.

As we confess with faith the proceeding Word, it renews our thinking, brings Life and divine health into our being, rejuvenates us and fills us with energy and expectation, helps us overcome our past and our negative attitudes, and forms the image of Christ in us if we will walk in the things He shows us. As these things take place, we are moved towards fulfilling our true destiny as we are given a vision of who we are in Him. We are changed "from glory to glory".

I'm thankful to my friend Brenda Craig for reminding me of the importance of professing out loud the promises of Scripture and the words we hear from Jesus as we spend time in His presence. I want to add here that there are counterfeits of godly confession out there. A particular one I noticed out there is a new age author who used Psalm 23 as a "jumping off point" for confessions so contrary to the gospel of Christ that it really made me angry!! Please do not confuse the Word confessions here with that kind of self-worship. Of course, you have to judge for yourself (with the Holy Spirit's help) whatever you read, including what you read here.

*Speak these over and over until faith in God's word rises in you and becomes part of you.

*Your faith will grow if you're persistent.

*Study the Scriptures to get more understanding.

*You'll begin to see huge differences in your daily life. I already have.

*It works for me and it will work for you.

*Don't give up!!
